FINAL Village Gathering to Support the Recycling Centre

Thank you to all who gathered together on FRIDAY OCT 1st, at the Forest Row Village Green

Forest Row’s beloved tip site is for sale. On Oct 14th the County Council will decide whether to sell to a commercial bidder OR to let the Parish Council buy it and lease it to Frow ReSource to reinstate the brilliant community recycling, second hand shop, upcycling and repair centre.

So we seized the moment and  to prove that Forest Row wants and will benefit from this project

And people came...over 60 villagers. It was a happy, friendly gathering, with its own song for the occassion 

People were creative to raise the impact :

• with banners with POSITIVE slogans supporting the recycling centre and our goal of zero-waste 

• and brought eye-catching items  to pass on rather than dump in landfill or incinerators

• and wore something to represent  one of the many local groups we are part of (kids in school uniform, scout uniform, tennis gear, golf, farming ...

 

• and sang the campaign song 

We showed this project is for ALL - it unites us.

This is our chance to move towards a zero-waste local economy - for the good of our community, our forest and our world. Thank you for making it count!
